Micro-service based Application Deployment on Cloud to optimise cost
Customer's existing workload was running on on premise but during several technical deep dive sessions with customer's technical team, they are agreed to go ahead with Micro-service based architecture. Developers currently using Github and Github action for their code repo and build. They wanted an integration mechanism with Github with ECR. We have showed them the mechanism and steps to do that. We have educated customer how ECS cluster deployment works and how DynamoDB can be a good candidate for their use case. They further explored and agreed to replace IaaS stack with micro services. Initial workload to be deployed on AWS using ECS, ECR, DynamoDB, S3 and ALB.
Solutions Brief
During the PoC stage we helped customer to find tune their DynamoDB schema design and modelling. DynamoDB is a serverless database offering from AWS and it's performance heavily dependent on proper schema design. We helped customer to make their application docker compatible as we positioned ECS with autoscaling mode. Customer was looking autoscaling at all level. Security is one of the main asks from customer end. To address this we have factored several security services from AWS. Initially customer team overserved during pulling image it takes long time. We helped customer to fine tune their docker image file. Customer also wanted to speed up their select statement. Hence, we implemented Elasticache services.
Right from beginning to end we had almost everyday credence call with customer and solved the issue.
